The sidelap configuration is engineered to ensure weather tightness. DuraRib fasteners are coated with an organic material that tests seven times more resistant to rust than the typical .0003 cadmium-zinc coated fasteners. Star’s special fasteners feature innovative pilot points to minimize fastener strip-out, and increased fasteners along the eaves will combat moisture migration from ice and snow buildup. A quality sealant is applied during erection which helps eliminate water migration and air infiltration.
